Vinted is Europe’s largest C2C marketplace platform to buy and sell pre-loved fashion and lifestyle products. Putting a twist on a traditional online marketplace, Vinted has done away with the shopping cart and makes shopping more personal through one-on-one member interactions.
Founded in 2008, the Lithuanian start-up has created an active community. The marketplace promotes thoughtful consumption and caters to the lifestyles of millennials, making second-hand fashion the first choice worldwide.
Vinted community today reaches more than 21 million members, doubling since Hubert Burda Media has invested. The site lists over 20 million lifestyle items, with an annualized gross merchandise volume above €1bn. Vinted is currently active in more than 10 markets, including Germany, France and the Baltic states, and looking to expand into further markets as part of their growth strategy. Vinted has grown into a company that employs about 200 people, as of Q1 2019. Hubert Burda Media led the Series C funding along with Accel and Insight Venture Partners in 2015 and co-invested in the Series D, led by Sprints Capital.
